What's Happening

A whirlwind of a couple of weeks for us with a lot going on behind the scenes. I'll tell you about it in a few weeks. But we're all good and looking forward to spring and warmer weather. Usually I don't mind winter, and look forward to those fun snow-days. Not this year.

~A snowy morning 2 weeks ago~

But you can feel it in the air that the warmer days are coming. Todd and Max went yesterday for their spring haircuts. Max missed being groomed in September because he'd hurt his knee and had become what can only be called a "hot mess."

~Hot-Mess-Max~

Now transformed, and all that shagginess-insulation gone, Max is (of course) cold, and after I put a coat on him, he slept the day away under a warmed towel. At nearly 12 years old, spa days are starting to wear him out.

Nothing wears Todd out though, at least not that I can see. He's always ready for what may happen next, whatever that may be. As is our girl Ree.

Speaking of the next happening at our house, it is the arrival of a new girl, named Jaycee this past week. I'll tell you all about her in my next post. She has a bit of a story, and should have her own "tell-all" post.

I hope your weekend is ending on a good note!
~On the way to work last week ... why do the cows cross the road?~

  2. We are looking forward to when our yard isn't covered in snow but it's at least a couple of weeks away. We hope those cows were corralled and didn't cause too many traffic problems.

  3. The milking shed is behind the hedge. So glad your days are lightening up and getting warmer, and what a difference the haircut makes. If mine is too short in the winter I need a hat, no wonder the warm blanket was so welcome.,

  4. Pretty soon everyone will be complaining about the heat.

  5. Hello,
Yay, Spring is on the way. Todd and Max, Ree and Jaycee are all looking beautiful. The cows are looking at the grass across the road, is must be tastier. Take care, enjoy your day. Have a happy new week!

  6. Yes, we're all getting fed up with winter! But the sunshine we do get is starting to feel warmer. We're glad all your pups are doing well.

  7. My dogs all loved when I stuck their blankets in the dryer for a few minutes before bed. Can't say I blame them.

  8. Thank you for your comment on my blog. It is so nice to know I am not alone in what we will do for our dogs. Mark has become a light sleeper now that he is sleeping with Zappa and I can tell it's taking it's toll on him. :) It's amazing how one dog can control your whole life. lol It was like this when there were all six, but it's different now with one.

Hope you having some peace and a good week.

  10. As usual, such a sweet post. Max looks so warm and cozy after being groomed. Bet he feel better, but tired. We are so ready for spring and warm days too. Can only imagine what kind of story Jaycee has to tell. Thank goodness for you!

  11. That looks like a big cow escape! I used to love winter, but as I've aged, I find I like the cold less and less. But a good snow storm still brings out the child in me. I always love reading about Todd. And how sweet a photo of Max keeping warm.

  12. Thank you for the beautiful pictures, each one. Max looks so very dear beneath his warm blanket. And a big welcome to lovely Jaycee!! I look forward to hearing her story. Years ago a herd of cows were kept in the pasture across our creek. Occasionally there would be a "break through" moment and our yard would be swarming with cows. It always added a little drama to a quiet day.

  14. We are seeing brief but positive signs of the end of winter...hooray...but petcretary hates the mudpies in various parts of our yard...a large area didn't have enough time to regrow grass after the concrete work and the tree removal...lots of work loon=ms!

We'll love to hear Jaycee's story.
