Having said that, you could see why I cheered this morning when we were out for our walk, and Sheba came to me with the beloved, lost, dirty green frisbee in her mouth--Of course she won't tell me where she found it, but it didn't matter, she found it! I took it from her, and showed it to Josh who had wandered into the 'forbidden zone' of the yard--When he saw it, he immediately came running to me to be reunited with his beloved green frisbee.
As I've said before, it really is those little things that make you smile, don't they?
So, how do you top that for the rest of the day? Well a couple of friends are coming over this afternoon to help me with the clean up of the old shingles from the barn roof. The work is mostly completed, but there are still some things that need to be 'tweaked' on it, that I hope will be easy fixes. But Carl, (who continues to recover uneventfully), and I have been the recipients of several acts of kindness and friendship, and for that we have been humbled, and are grateful. I hope you are having a good Thursday too!
the flippy floppers always stir my heart. memories of my old girl marigold in her younger days of frisbee playing...
ReplyDeleteHappy Josh, I love that second photo.
ReplyDeleteNothing better than having your favorite ready and available.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Aww, Josh must be delighted. So sweet that he has a special treasure. Funny how they have The One Special Toy they really like.
ReplyDeleteI remember that old frisbee and I'm so glad Josh got it back. Also glad that Carl is doing well. I too feel blessed by the friendship and encouragement that has come my way from my friends here and my blogger friends from all over. Including you, dear Kim, in the midst of your busy life you always find time to reach out.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Josh got his frisbee back. There is something special with a special toy.
ReplyDeleteMillie
oh what a wonderful moment, returning that green frisbee to its rightful owner. Also, it is so nice you have so mmany good and helpful friends.
ReplyDeleteYes, we are blessed.

So glad Josh was reunited with his lost frisbee. Thankfully Sheeba found it. My daughter (21) has her old balnkets that were her sisters from when she was born and the are all torn, stained and those are the ones she wants. I have bought her the same brand ones in several different colors, but she claims they are not the same, even after washing them several times. Go figure. Ana
ReplyDeleteBless him, it really is love, isn't it?!

Toys, valued so much, and sometimes new ones not accepted so well, and our friends, valued so much too, there when needed, in the background when in reserve, treasured like a well worn toy,not bright and shiny and new,but with the wonderful patina of life. Greetings from Jean
ReplyDeleteYay for finding the frisbee! It's better than Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI am a dumbbell Kim!! I should have known your day off again would be on Thursdays!! I'll call you!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Josh got his toy back!!!
If anyone deserves to be the recipient of acts of kindness and friendship it's you, Kim! I'm so glad there are friends to help you out.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad Josh has been reunited with his frisbee! I'm sure all of us have a tatty little something we're really attached to - in my case it's an old purple shirt that is falling apart but I can't part with. Go figure!
That story made us smile, too. We're glad Josh has his favourite frisbee back.
ReplyDeleteGood friends are gold.

Docs right that second photo is lovely
ReplyDeleteWe do know how important an old favorite toy can be. It's impossible to find another that feels just right.
ReplyDeleteAfternoon Kim, oh joy, the frisbee is pound, how sweet he looks with it in his mouth.....Happy to hear you have some help with such good friends., hope Carl is feeling better, Francine.
ReplyDeleteYears ago, my son gave our little Scottie a battery powered, heavy nylon ball. He loved it more than anything and it made a huge WAHHHH noise with breaking glass in the background. It just went lost and no one knew where it was, until one spring day, we were out in back and Oatsie came up to me, dropped his wahhhh ball at my feel with the most joyful expression ever on his face. We had to replace the battery and other than that it was in good shape. That he found his treasure himself was the best thing!
ReplyDeleteJo, Stella and Zkhat
Looks like Josh 'died and went to heaven'!! Yeah for the return of Old Green Frisbee!!!
ReplyDeleteyes Kim, without the 'little things', where would we be!
Oh I know how he feels. There is nothing like a good, old, and reliable favorite toy. I have a blue ball thing that i have had since I was 6 months old. I love it and no other ball will ever replace it. I keep a close eye on it as it has been lost a time or two. I blame the squirrels just messin' with me. Have a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
It just struck me that Sam and Josh could be brothers - Sam looked so much like Josh when he was younger, down to the lighter "cat" fur that Josh seems to be sporting.
ReplyDeleteSam
He looks sooo happy, like he`s saying where did you FIND it? with his head to the side some.I`m so glad for him.
ReplyDeleteGlad Carl is healing well, happy for your blessings of help.
Your hawk looks like mine!

Josh is so gorgeous! I'm glad he has his frisbee once again...simple pleasures for sure. Yep! You can't beat those acts of kindness. We sure had our share this past summer. Hope Carl is doing well.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Josh found his favorite toy!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
ReplyDeleteJosh makes me think of Linus and his blanket. :o)
Glad to hear that Carl is still getting better!
God bless and have a wonderful weekend. ♥
Aw, I'm so happy for Josh. He looks absolutely beautiful in your photos - shining coat, a sparkle in his eyes. I'm glad that he has his fave toy back in his jaws!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's the smallest things that have the biggest impact! I'm glad Josh has been reunited with his old favorite!
ReplyDeleteOh I know that wonderful feeling of finding something that I had lost! That wonderful feeling just fills your heart with joy! The green "found" frisbee makes me happy too!
ReplyDeleteAnd its good to hear that Carl is recovering too!
I hope your day was sunny as you and your treasured friends helped clean up the shingles. If we were closer- we would be there to help you too.

Woof! Woof! I've lost several toys in the snow and its always fun finding them when the snow melts. Glad to hear Carl is recovering. I heard there's a bid snow storm coming your way ... be careful and be safe. Golden LOVE to the Golden Pines Gang. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteBe glad that he cares for his toys....snippet can destroy an indestructible one in ten minutes! So pleased he has it back.
ReplyDeleteOh, we do love our creature comforts. Sometimes there is simply nothing that can replace our most beloved items. Have a great weekend and stay warm!
ReplyDelete:-)
ReplyDeleteTeehee... That is such a cute story!
ReplyDeleteOh, Bless him!! Such a sweet way to begin your day, and I loved hearing about it...here's to old friends, no matter how worn they are...♥
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting me as always, my Dear, and for all your sweet comments!
Hugs,
Anne
Howdy Mates, so glad you found your frisbee. The old toys are the best aren't they! You certainly know who your friends are when they jump to it and lend a hand. Hope your weekend is wonderful. Good luck to your dad with his recovery too! No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteA boy and his green frisbee. Happiness !
ReplyDeleteSo glad that his frisbee was found, some things can't be replaced and they do know the difference.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear the barn problem is being taken care of.
Josh reminds me so much of Easton. They resemble each other and have very strong play drive (and of course, love their toys). I think I see the lovely Annie in the picture with Josh with his beloved green, floppy frisbee at his feet. I take pride in being able to ID your pack. Hope your weekend was good.
ReplyDeleteA heartwarming tale--for sure!
