Tuesday evening before I went to bed, my eye caught sight of what I thought was an earring on the floor in our hallway. When I picked it up, I realized it was a ring that I'd never seen before. I asked Carl if he knew where it came from, and he didn't. I figured it probably belonged to my dog-walker and thinking that she may be worried about having lost it, I texted her to let her know I'd found it. "Connie" replied that it wasn't her ring. With no school here on Tuesday, sometimes her daughter comes with her and so I asked if it was hers or if it could belong to one of her friends? It does not. I have asked everyone that has been in our house if they have lost a ring, and sent a picture, and everyone is saying the same thing that I've said, "it's not my ring." I am totally baffled and have no idea how this ring came to be on the floor in my hallway, or who it could belong to.
It's times like this, that I wish the dogs could talk. Maybe they know. But if they could talk, would they tell me? I've a feeling that George wouldn't. He's a dog of few words, especially if it's not dinnertime.
Neither would Dusty....
Charlie can barely see, so I'm sure he couldn't shed any light on where the ring came from. And yes, if you look closely, you'll see that's a leaf on his beard.
Apple the kitten is too busy watching television these days to notice.
And I'm sure Todd wouldn't know. He's too busy with MY shoes out in the yard.
I guess where this ring came from is just going to have to remain a mystery.

Wow that was some find, usually the only thing our mom finds on the floor is poop.

Wow, what a mystery. Maybe it was stuck to the bottom of a shoe and brought in the house that way. It is now what they call finders keepers? I love all your cute puppy dogs, adorable photos.
ReplyDeleteA mystery of all times, and Ms Yellow, perched up there, she has both eyes on everything, maybe she knows.
ReplyDeleteOh, now thats a real mystery 'cos it looks a very special ring as well!
ReplyDeleteYAY fur Todd and his shoe collection!
Loves and licky kisses

At least it isn't a wedding ring.
ReplyDeleteThat is weird. Hope you figure it out, but if not - finder's keepers.

ReplyDeleteMy first Portie, Bentley, collected shiny objects like coins and jewelry. If we dropped an earring or tie tack, Bentley would carry it to his hiding place on the window seat. On walks he would pick up anything he found to add to his collection. Perhaps one of your dogs is also a collector.
ReplyDeleteI bet a dog did it!
ReplyDeleteTodd. Definitely Todd.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting, a real mystery indeed Kim. Only the dogs know,Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteI think it was one of the cats, you know "cat burglar"......just sayin, if the fur fits.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
How curious !
ReplyDeleteYou did say that you had company staying a few weeks ago, maybe it belonged to them ?
Such a pretty ring...

ReplyDeleteA beautiful ring and a mystery.
ReplyDeleteA mystery indeed! Do let us know when you find the owner :-)
ReplyDeleteHave you checked with your friend that visited a while back ? it could be theirs and the cats and or dogs just have been batting it about and you haven't seen it till now ! Nice ring though . Hope you solve your mystery soon , Cut photos . Miggs always has leaves on her beard to silly dogs. Thanks for sharing , have a good weekend !
ReplyDeletehow interesting! it is a pretty one!
ReplyDeletewowser.
ReplyDeleteand it's not just any old ring either. it looks rather special.
i think the dogs know and are just not telling. maybe it was 'found' and decidedly indigestible and so... left for you to find?
very strange indeed!
the pictures of the innocent culprits are wonderful! LOLOL! XOXO♥
Great pictures of the pups. :) What a mystery about the ring.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find the origin of the ring. It would drive me nuts.
ReplyDeletePretty ring, could it be from your company? They may have lain it on the sink or bedside table or ? and I can only think that Ms Yellow may have thought it a bobble. DC used to have a passion for pretty things...
ReplyDeleteHow strange! I wonder if you'll ever get to the bottom of this mystery?
ReplyDeleteI think one of the furrys found it,,,
ReplyDeleteThats what I think
love

Perhaps one of the people from the rescue? How long have you lived in the house? Perhaps a previous tenant? Any inscription?
ReplyDeleteLove your dogs.
Hope you all have a blessed weekend, Kim. ♥
Maybe one of the dogs found it outside and brought it in. Maybe it was inside on of the cats cages when you brought them home. Maybe one of your visitors that stayed with you a couple of weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteYes a definite mystery.
Have a great weekend. Ana
So that's where my ring ended up!!!
ReplyDeleteOk, just kidding. I've never been to your house, but I did have a similar ring that I lost years ago.
DeleteThat would drive me crazy, I'd start worrying and checking the locks on the windows and doors!
I once lost my wedding band, and I didn't know it for a few hours. It was a very cold day, and it slipped off my finger as I pulled off my gloves. Believe it or not, my husband found it in the grass next to where I park my car several months later after the snow had melted.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the person who lost it doesn't know that they lost it yet? Mysteries like that one really bother me until I can solve them! I do wish your dogs could talk!
Maybe it was lost by the previous owner of the house? Be sure to tell us how it turns out.
ReplyDeletePerhaps it fell off a cashier's finger while packing a bag.

Love all your critters!

Now there is a mystery . . .
ReplyDeleteHas to be an answer . . .
I hope an answer gets "coughed up" soon!
(I agree with a comment in your latest post, one of the animals carried it in?)
