It's been a busy day for us. It began with an early morning vet appointment for Dusty to just recheck the tumor on his leg, and refill his medications.
The trip was combined with giving our foster cat "Apple" to her new family, who are so excited to add her to their two-cat household.
I was home for nearly an hour when a text came from the cat-rescue... Despite my telling them that I wouldn't be able to take another cat, SHE asked if I would please consider it. SHE did say please... So about an hour later, we were welcoming "Flurry" to Golden Pines.
Flurry and his brother "Blizzard" (very un-original names for two white cats don't you think?) are both about 4 months old, and with several other cats were rescued from a hoarding situation. Both little boys were pretty sick, and now that they're feeling better they need to learn that people are a "good thing." The brothers have been separated in hopes of their finding their own self confidence and that they can trust people.
So, we've gone from a black kitten to a white one. But no matter what color the kitten might be, Charlie is of course pretty happy about it and Todd at the moment doesn't know quite what to think. But I know that's only temporary.
Black to white in an hour, doing good there! Pretty boys! You have built-in babysitters for them, bet Charlie was happy.
ReplyDeleteThat is a puzzlement about the wedding band, nice little thing. No date or inscription? Of course, my mind wanders now - maybe one of the dogs pulled it off a murder victim in a shallow grave at the edge of your property, or some woman, unhappy with her husband threw the ring out of the car window as she drove by or...
I KNEW you could come up with a good story about it!! :-)
DeleteYou lie. You poured bleach on Apple :)
ReplyDeleteLOL -- BUSTED!!! :-)!!!
DeleteWhat a cute kitty. Hope you find the forever home quickly. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still betting on a ghost or early resident, then....
Have a blessed Sunday. :)
At least you had a two hour reprieve. Enjoy the new kitten and feel free to give him a new name. Maybe snowball? :)
ReplyDeleteI know some kittys tonight that are very happy.,, because they get to look at some cute faces there at Golden Pines!
ReplyDeletelove
tweedles
You have such a good heart. I'm sure that you'll teach Flurry well, and he'll be ready for his furever home before you know it! I hope that Dusty continues to do well.
ReplyDeleteWonder if one of the dogs brought the ring in.....strange. What a cute kitty.
ReplyDeleteDo you have wooden floors or ceilings, that maybe the ring fell through a gap? I would suggest you write a story, " The forgotten wedding Ring" or " Look what one of the family found ", with the opening lines " They all lined up at the doorway saying. " It wasn't me, or me, or me" Love the new Flurry, he looks very contented, and goodness knows how many cats or kittens were in the same place. Hope Blizzard is as well cared for as Flurry, he will have lots of adoring Goldens to boost his morale. You are so generous.
ReplyDeleteWonder what Todd is saying to Charlie in the last photo?
ReplyDeletePerhaps the ring somehow got attached to one of the dogs fur, outdoors, and dropped off in the hallway. How infuriating if it forever remains a mystery !
That is very strange that the just appeared in your house! We had a story like that on the local news here and someone actually contacted the station and got their ring back! It had an identifying mark on it, but for the life of me, I cannot remember how it got lost! I sure hope you figure it out! Your new kitty is very pretty...and your dogs must love having a new one to "train"! BOL! You are so generous Kim...a big heart! Wishing you well in teaching the new kitty...
ReplyDelete...and yet again you open your home and your heart to another little furry soul. You are amazing, Kim.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Flurry!
Oh wow, you just amaze me! You seem to have an never ending supply of room and love for the furbabies. I do not like snow but I think the kitties names are cute. I like the shot of Charlie, Todd and the new kitty Flurry! Good luck on the training. Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week ahead!
ReplyDeleteLoved Kismet's comment . . .
ReplyDeleteWhat a "jewel" you are for your "revolving family of cuddles!"
I wish diamonds mysteriously showed up in my house lol!
ReplyDeleteMorning Kim, such a pretty ring too.....awwww, cute white kitty, bless your heart for helping an animal in need, you are an angel.Hugs Francine.
ReplyDeleteand there i was thinking what unique names! flurry and blizzard! LOLOL.
ReplyDeletethat little face ... WOW. pretty much instant love.
this one might have to be a resident kitty? after all you have a resident black... you need a resident white too... maybe... just sayin'.
he could be charlie's responsibility of course. :) you wouldn't have to do a thing mom!
XOXO♥
oh wait. my apologies to mrs yellow.
ReplyDeletewell. white and yellow are two of my favorite colors together too. :)
That really is a strange mystery about the ring!
ReplyDeleteThe kitten looks so sweet Kim (I was going to say purrrfect), oh darn, there I did!
Some folk are lucky and get a 'recycled' ring. Others just get recycled kibbles !
ReplyDeleteso glad uncle charlie still has someone to watch over. :) good luck little apple. and i really love that old ring. a treasure.
ReplyDeleteThe ring is beautiful! I hope it fits you if no one claims it. All the pups and cats are looking very relaxed and happy...Golden Pines has that effect on critters.
ReplyDeleteYou have a heart of gold, Kim. And I think Charlie's fascination with the cats is, well, fascinating.
ReplyDeleteFlurry looks like he's smiling! What a cute group of photos. And what a kind heart you have.
ReplyDeleteyou're the best
ReplyDeleteCute kitties. I am sure they will love you in no time. The ring is sure a mystery.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I would have fallen in love with Apple! Love me some little black kitties!
ReplyDeleteI love a good mystery, the Ring is certainly that!
Here's hoping that Flurry adapts to his new environment quickly, he looks like a pretty easygoing little fella, so hopefully he will be ready to find a furrever home that will shower him with love!
