We'll Take It!

~On our road - A view of the Short Hill Mountains~
Blue skies and warming sun as I was off to the vet early this morning with George and Bella. Nothing serious for either of them. Bella, just a follow up appointment for her thyroid.
~Bella~
George was due for a six month check up, and to meet our primary vet.  He's really slow getting up, and I know it's a combination of arthritis, and his weight.  When he was weighed this past summer, I was a little disappointed that he'd lost hardly any weight.  But we liked this scale today, he's lost 10 pounds since he was last weighed -- He's now 95 pounds!   About 10 more to go!
~George~
We'll take it, and celebrated with a cookie!
A quick stop at the grocery store, where I had to grin at this display of boxed Weight Watcher cakes, and Valentine bakery cupcakes together.
Home by late morning and a quiet rest of the day. I've looked at so much snow this week, that now I'm actually starting to see see things in it.  Am I the only one that thinks this melting snow in our yard looks like a Scottie?
Todd would probably disagree.

  1. Way to go, George! What an accomplishment!!!!

I see a Scottie in that snow too. Perhaps Todd has taken up snow sculpting! I love your blue skies with the white snow. Gorgeous!

  3. There's nothing like celebrating your weight loss with a fattening cookie.

  4. Yes, it does look like a Scottie, but not as handsome as Todd !
Oh goodness, George is a big boy ! We have just successfully dieted our older, 10 year old Lab, who was touching 40 kilos, down to around 35 kilos which is the vet's recommendation. She is very slow and has arthritis, so very much the same as George, I would imagine. We're now using the same diet food for our second, 6 year old Lab, who is full of energy and always happy to walk and run after a ball, but started putting on weight after she was spayed.
The trouble with a Lab is that they always manage to convince you that they are starving, even after they've just had their dinner !

  23. So good that George is getting down to a nearer normal weight. Kudos to you and to George. Yes, as the snow melts we are also seeing figures. I think it's because the snow has been around so long it's very icy and melts in irregular patterns. Almost as much fun as clouds, isn't it?

  25. Way to go, George! My 11 yr old Boo has lost about 10 lbs, too - a combination of replacing about 1/4 of her food with green beans, and just cutting the amount altogether :) She's at her ideal weight again and moving a lot better!

  26. Those of us to the north and east of you were enjoying green grass and some confused plants that think it's time to start budding. No complaints around here about the lack of snow though. I do see the Scottie in that snow formation.

  27. I think it totally looks like a Scottie! I can sure see one.

I love all these photos, Kim! All wonderful. The one of George and his doggie tongue especially makes me smile. :) It must have been one delicious cookie!

  30. Congrats on George losing weight. I have Roscoe on a diet, because he has thyroid issues as well and has gained a lot. He is 107lbs. I am hoping when I take him back at the end of this month that he has lost 10lbs. We will see. I am hoping.
I think it does look like a Scottie after seeing Todd's picture.
Here in the Sunshine state it is 77 degrees. Hot hot hot. I wish it would snow just for one day and stay in the 60's atleast for a month.
    Wishful thinking.
    Have a great weekend. Ana

  31. The postman came with a package today. Thank you ! Am horrified by how much the US Postal Service has the audacity to charge - so a double thank you.
