Nina Arrives at Golden Pines

I am my usual behind this week and I want to tell you all about Todd's clan reunion, and a few other things.
~Todd saying "hello" to the bovine part of the clan~
But first things first....

On Wednesday evening we welcomed a new addition via Lab Rescue, named Nina. She's 12 years old and was confiscated by an Animal Control in West Virginia for cruelty.
~A photo of Nina at the kennel~
I've no idea what happened to her. I really don't want to know. But what I do know is that after three days we're finding what we knew when we met her that first night; that Nina is an easy going, gentle and beautiful black-lab. She likes our dogs, but doesn't like them to "get in her face" which is just fine. Max is that way too.
So, with her past behind her, as Nina's new and better life has begun, I am glad I can be part of her story and her gateway to helping her find the perfect forever home.

Welcome Nina!

  1. Oh, what a sweet but sad face that Nina has!!! In no time at all, she is going to be smiling all around Golden Pines. She is so very fortunate to have found you.

  2. I so glad Nina is with you.....

  3. Oh sweet Nina, a better life has begun for you.

  4. Oh Nina,,, welcome to Golden Pines! Your face is so beautiful,, and I know your heart will be filled with love!
Todd,, it looks to me like you had a great time at the reunion!

  5. Todd has a clan??? Who knew?

  6. Thank you again for welcoming a Lab to Golden Pines.

Nina will have a life of love and comfort with you all.

  7. Nina does have such a sweet face . . .
yet I too think she has a look of sadness.
Happy she is with you . . .
I am sure she is enjoying the LOVE!

  8. Nina will in time grow to know she is so loved and cared for, her eyes say so much. Todd, enjoy every re-union with whoever is in your own clan.

  9. Oh those eyes, Kim!! That last picture is saying "OK, this is wonderful... but I wonder when the cruelty is going to start because this can't be real."

It's ok, Nina. You have no idea how wonderful life can be... but you're going to find out, honey.

    Lovingly, Andrea

  10. Andrea just said it all for me. I can't wait until Nina truly KNOWS that life is not all pain and cruelty. that's what those eyes show now. and yet she can still be gentle and loving and accepting. welcome beautiful little Nina. your life is about to change! XOXO

  11. Hello, I have always had a soft spot for Goldens and Labs. They are the best dogs. Welcome Nina, I am glad she was rescued. She looks like a sweetie. I hope you and Todd had a fun time at the reunion. Enjoy your day and have a great new week ahead.

  12. I rarely comment but the sweet face of Nina just made me write
that I am so thankful she has a good home now.

  13. Crying over that last photo... :(

  14. Looking forward to seeing Nina smile.
    God bless.

  15. Her eyes are sad, but I know this will change after getting all the love you have to give.

  16. Wow, did Nina come to the perfect home. She is one lucky Lab. beautiful Nina. Sad face but I am sure it won't be long before she is happy and smiling.

  17. Nina sure looks like a sweetie. It's good to hear she is getting along well in your home.

  18. She's beautiful and so lucky to be with you. Abby Lab came out of a bad environment, puppy mill breeder, not allowed inside, heartworm positive and dumped at a high kill shelter when she was too old, skinny and sick to have more puppies. She house trained quickly, she is SO smart, and is just the most gentle loving dog. We've had her four years now.

  19. I love that she has found a home with you - Welcome Nina, you are a beautiful girl!

  20. The good part of Nina's life is just beginning at Golden Pines.

That is a beautiful picture of Todd.

  21. Oh what a sweet girl Nina is . Hello Nina and Welcome .

  22. Pretty girl! Hope she has a happy life from now on!

  24. Wonderful story. Kudos to you for harboring her out of harm's way.

  25. We don't need to know the details of Nina's past. It will only haunt us. All that matters is that she is safe and is going to have a wonderful future with lots of tlc.
Such good news about Charlie!! Sweet boy.
Your pictures have just been beautiful. All of those sweet faces and lovely blue skies.
I am so happy for you that you are now having 4 day weekends. You not only need that time, but you deserve it so much.
