Seeing Todd sitting outside, all by himself this morning in the rain, fog and cold, reminded me of the origin of the Scottish Terrier and the description written by the Westminster Kennel Club, that perfectly describes them.
"The Scottish Terrier’s character and personality reflect the bleak and lonely moors of his origin. Life to him is serious, to be met with dignity, reserve and stout heart. He is by nature aloof, but to the accepted few friends and family his devotion is deep and lifelong. A secure place in his home, understanding and companionship are essential to his happiness. In spite of his independent spirit, his strong desire for approval will win compliance with your wishes where harsh words and punishment will fail. To those who appreciate his unique character, the Scottish Terrier is a friend and companion, second to none."
I hope you're having a good weekend!
~Todd, feeling the glow of Christmas, already!~ |
Hello, Todd is a wonderful friend and companion. Cute photos. Our weather is much the same, fog and drizzle. I hope we see sunshine soon. Enjoy your day, have a great new week!
ReplyDeleteThank you for that interesting information about Scotties. We didn't know that.
ReplyDeleteRejoice in being one of the accepted few ! Is the compliance with your wishes part correct ?
ReplyDeleteA somewhat inaccurate description, at least of our Scottie, since it doesn’t mention the power of treats and tidbits in his life!
ReplyDeleteSo true of the scotties here, though, they don't like getting their backs wet.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and a blessed New Year to you all, Kim!
ReplyDeleteIf she could our Lee would love more alone time outside! Hope your holiday prep is going well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very special dog is Todd and all his kin.
ReplyDeleteTodd clearly looks like he's in his element. I just love him to death.
ReplyDeleteThunder used to love to be out in the rain. Todd looks like he enjoys it too. Mom says rain makes for muddy paws, so she does everything she can to make us come in quickly:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
You're talking to a rescue Scottie household here.
ReplyDeleteHmm, that's a wonderful description. It does sound like Todd, and it sounds like you are the perfect human for him!
ReplyDeleteThat second picture, looks like Todd is in his element. :)
ReplyDeleteWe had snow this morning and a cold breeze this afternoon when I cleaned off the car for tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI'm not big on dignity and reserve, but I am trying to develop a stout heart! Maybe Todd can be a role model. :)
Awwwwww.....!!!! Todd!!! <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeletewhat a perfect description. and I hate to admit it. but I like that weather.
ReplyDeleteactually it fits my brother as well. I'll send it to the marine.
thank you! I love the pictures of Todd. the gate keeper. xo
I remember how happy I was when you got him. I felt he would always take such very good care of you, Carl, and all the old dogs that came to live with you. I think I was right. He does, doesn't he?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful picture of Todd, thank you for the scottie description. We are snowing here
