The Mercedes-Benz Dog Bed

Well, it's Monday morning, and "Chuck" my favorite TV weatherman said, and I believed him, when he said we were going to get more snow than we actually got, which was only about 4+ inches. I guess that's my problem.  There were so many predictions on the other channels and weather sites. BUT regardless that Chuck lied to me, I loved the quiet and snowy Sunday we had!  And I love that the doctor I work for has closed our office today.

So I get another day at home....

To take a few more pictures

~Our Foster Girl, Shelby~

and our crew will do what they do best, and that's sleep.

~A Sleeping Sunny~

We just got what I call the "Mercedes-Benz" of orthopedic dog beds. It's made in the US, it gets great reviews and it even has a 10 year warranty.

I have wanted one for a couple of years for our crew, but a brand-new one is way more than I usually pay for one of their beds. But I was able to get a "second" bed from the company that came last week. It's really a nice bed -- It is a memory foam bolster-bed with a waterproof cover under another washable one -  that I have of course put a 3rd cover on - and it comes with that 10 year warranty. Better than a Mercedes!

The only "problem" with this Mercedes-Benz dog bed, is that after about a week **none** of the dogs are sleeping on it. So unlike what they do when we get a new Costco dog-bed for about $30  -- The ultimate snub for this "Mercedes Benz" of dog beds, don't you think?

Enjoy your Monday!

  1. Guess they like the well used beds most.
It’s like wearing an old pair of blue jeans!
How many dogs do you have on this day, 2.1.2021 . . .

  2. It looks so comfy too! Maybe if you put a slightly dirty outer cover on it won't smell so new and they might use it. Just a thought.

  3. Yesterday’s snow was only 4” but today we are getting hit by another 8 to 12”. The only one who like it are dogs and kids.

Hopefully one of your pups will discover and enjoy the Mercedes Benz bed soon. Cats would love the box.

  4. Maybe you can give them a solid review and they will refund your money?

The snow does look peaceful. And Todd looks quite happy in it!
    God bless.

  5. YAY on the snow - we want some too!!!

We find that it takes us a bit to "cozy" up to a new bed. Bet it won't be long before there is a long line for that Mercedes Benz bunker.

  6. LOL! I'm surprised especially with a bolster...my dogs loved that feature and Copper appreciated the orthopedic construction for his hips. I guess you could always curl up there in the corner with them...jp

  7. This is so like when I bought a very expensive memory pillow for Hugh, with his neck full of arthritis. He tried, and after 2 nights preferred the old one. Maybe put the new one in front and swap places.

  8. Maybe that bed doesn't smell right - needs to be messed up a bit.

  9. I'm so glad you got an extra day off, Kim! And the story about the new fancy dog bed... what a hoot! Reminds me of little ones playing with the Christmas wrap more than the toy inside. :-) ~Andrea xoxo

  11. Nothing like getting an unexpected day off work. It's so pretty there with all the snow. That's something about the new bed. It looks very comfortable back in the corner. Todd is adorable! You take such good care of all those sweet dogs.

  13. Hello,
LOL, they must like their old beds. Maybe they are broken in and too comfy to give up. Cute doggies, great photos. Take care, have a great day!

  14. I wasn’t at all surprised, Kim. I bought our Goldie a very, very expensive Memory-foam bed and she utterly refused to sleep on it. When I forced her onto it she acted like St Sebastian collecting the 14th arrow! In the end I gave up and donated it to our local SPCA. I can only think that the sensation of ‘give’ without a hard ground beneath was spooking her.

  15. Our four dogs never had dog beds before, they had couches and chairs and human beds. Then my husband had the idea they all needed beds...well needless to say only two of the beds gets used, sometimes. THe other two are put away. Took Fiona months to come to appreciate that bed. lol

Give it time. Love the shot of Todd! lol

  16. Our big dogs loved the Coolaru beds best. I think it was because soft beds were hard for them to get into and out of, kind of like walking in sand. The Coolaru's were easy for them, especially when trying to climb out. Our present troop sleeps on our beds...we have ramps for them...

  17. What luxury, but I'm sure I've read that memory foam isn't always a success because it takes the "shape" of the last person/dog that used it. This makes it uncomfortable for the next one who uses it, unless they are exactly the same shape. However, your crew look very comfy on their old beds.
My Lab. Inca has an old fashioned moulded plastic bed with a thick duvet. She loves to snuggle down and pound the duvet into submission!
We do hope that someone threw some snowballs for Todd!

  18. It looks like someone has been on that bed though. And how I love your huge porch or veranda, maybe is more correct. Such a perfect place for the dogs to hang out. And you and Carl too, of course.

  19. I bought a Big Barker for my two girls - well guess what, neither one sleeps on it! But when Neeli had 2 TPLO surgeries, I slept downstairs - on the Big Barker bed - and it was awesome. My dogs' loss - my gain:)

  20. I guess they could be afraid of the cost of insurance and fuel.

  24. Isn't that typical! Hopefully in time someone will give it a try and realize how great it is. :)

  25. I really like this post which is about dog beds. I am too much attached with my pets and I was searching some cool stylish beds for my pets but it seems nothing to work. I tried to find out at many places then I got a fabulous Nandog Pet Gear and there I found so many stylish dog beds for the best price. So I must suggest this for all.
