Happy New Year Blogging Friends! What a year 2021 was. The past twelve months were full of a whole range of emotions of highs and very lows that I didn't post about. So with just a bit of trepidation, I think I may be ready for 2022. I do want to thank-you for your kind comments of support during the not so good times, and for cheering us on this past year. You've kept me going, and there's no way I could ever thank-you for that. You have made a difference for me.

Our holidays were really nice. As stress free as they could be despite working and the rush to get to the finish line to get everything done.
We did keep a pair of foster dogs that were also with us this past fall for a few days. Ginger and Charlie returned just before Christmas, and left New Year's Day. The two were fun and the perfect houseguests. Ginger is a toy-burier-extraordinaire, and we had to keep an eye on her when she had toys, because she was so good at it!

And since we're on the subject of pairs of dogs - Below is an update on Hansel and Gretel that came the day after Christmas and was posted on Facebook. I could not have been happier to read "MC's" fun post and that this very special pair that I adore has found the best forever home! I honestly felt like I'd been given a Christmas gift!
Yes Kim, may this year bring those good things we have so missed for the last two years, as well as those due in 22! That's a lot of goodies! I laughed at the post about Hansel and Gretel AKA Havoc and Chaos - their new owners are wonderful people. Our gorgeous Goldie grandchild had to be put down shortly before Christmas and in the difficult moments I thought of how often your heart has been shredded. SHe'd stayed with us for two days while the family ent on holiday and was fine - a little slower, as old age permits, but fine. A few days after the family returned one morning she couldn't get up so was taken straight to the vet. Two days of testing (coming home each night, thank goodness) she was diagnosed with a tumour between the heart and lung, and something called Myasthenia Gravis. At her age (12) treatment was not an option, so after a final evening with us all, she was PTS. In no pain, but weakening rapidly. I still tear up thinking about her. What a hole they leave.
ReplyDeleteHi Virginia! I'm so sorry to hear the news about your Goldie Grandchild. Myasthenia Gravis is a tricky diagnosis, and the tumor between her heart and lung by itself would not have left them with many, if any options for treatment. I hope comfort has been found in knowing that she left this life knowing she was loved and treasured and adored, and all that is now part of her, as she is and will always be a part of your family. Again, I am so sorry for the loss of your Gorgeous Goldie Grandchild. ❤
DeleteHello Kim,
ReplyDeleteLove the cute furbaby photos. I hope 2022 is a good year for us all. I am waiting to see the snow start here, we may get 1-3 inches. Enjoy your snow day. Happy New Year! Take care, enjoy your day! Have a great new week!
We're glad to hear the new year is starting off on a good note. That report about Hansel and Gretel is too funny!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, dearest Kim, to you and all the brood!! I'm happy Hansel & Gretel got a wonderful home but I do NOT like their new names. "Havoc" and "Chaos" have very negative connotations to them and I don't like hanging negative banners around an animal's neck. I think they should have been able to keep the names they were given long ago. But who am I?! *haha* May 2022 be a wonderful year for all of us... especially you, my friend. Love~ Andrea xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI took do not like the negative names. How sad. I read a time ago dogs live up to their names (especially if given a name like dog or a bad name).
DeleteLots of good wishes from all of us at The Poupounette for a very Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I love to learn that a dog or a pair of dogs find a good new home and that account of Hansel and Gretel shows they lucked out with humans tolerant of their antics.
ReplyDeleteoh what a Wonderful endearing post!
ReplyDeleteXOXOXO
We had a lot of ups and downs this past year too. We're fervently hoping 2022 will be better.
ReplyDeleteThe Havoc and Chaos story is a riot! LOL BOL!
Todd is looking at his tennis balls as if they are golden treasures! A miser and his gold! So cute.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. We hope this one is better than the last two. Having so many happy loving furry faces around makes the bad times better.
ReplyDeleteWe hope 2022 is a wonderful year for you and for all of us too. We too really enjoyed that update on Havoc and Chaos - just love the names:) Tell Todd to enjoy that snow for us - all we got was ice and a dusting of snow.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
happy New Year! Fun update on Hansel and Gretel, seems like the new owners have a sense of humor!
ReplyDeleteSounds like your year ended and began on a good note. Glad to hear. So wonderful to hear about all the adoptions. Have a Happy New Year, Kim! We always look forward to your news. ♥
ReplyDeleteHavoc and Chaos, what wonderful and appropriate names for two mischievous dogs! So glad they've found a forever home, with people who understand them.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you all at Golden Pines, Kim.
Shaggy dog stories.
ReplyDeleteSuch great news about Hansel and Gretel; Havoc and Chaos, that's so funny. I love seeing all the dogs. I was noticing your perfect fence and the green grass. What a wonderful place for dogs. I know you said the pictures were taken in the fall but still, it's so pretty there. Wishing you the best of luck for the new year. Thank you for that you do.
ReplyDeleteHang in there....you are doing the work of angels.
ReplyDeleteHavoc and Chaos sound like loving nicknames for those two.
A happy and cheerful New Year, Kim! It does my heart good to read this post. Oh, isn’t that the happiest story about Hansel and Gretel? Their good black Lab faces remind me so much of our beloved Millie who “went on ahead” the day after Thanksgiving after 15 plus wonderful years. I hope you’ve had lots of snow!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very Happy New Year. I do hope it will be a good one xxx
